Anne Bayati - Hypnobirthing Midwife

My name is Anne Bayati and I live in West Kent with my husband and 3 children. I am a registered Midwife and qualified Hypnobirthing Practitioner. I completed my midwifery training at Canterbury Christ Church University where I achieved a First Class BSc Hons. Since then I have predominantly worked in a hospital setting, caring for women antenatally, during birth and in the postnatal period. I am particularly interested in facilitating normal births and waterbirths. In addition, I occasionally work as a community midwife which I find extremely interesting and diverse. More recently, I have become more involved with antenatal education and really enjoy the teaching and meeting new couples.

What is hypnobirthing

I became interested in Hypnobirthing having seen it within practice and was amazed at how gentle, calm and relaxed the whole experience was for the woman, her partner and also the baby. I wanted to find out more so studied Hypnobirthing in London where I qualified as a full member of the Association of Hypnobirthing Midwives (AHBM). The simple concept made such sense to me; having an understanding of the mind/body connection during birth, being relaxed, feeling in control and entrusting confidence in the body's birthing ability resulted in a more positive experience of birth. Giving women and their partners the tools to facilitate this is empowering and is very rewarding as it gives couples the opportunity to have a calm and gentler birth.

I now run group and private Hypnobirthing courses for couples which I thoroughly enjoy and will be introducing Hypnobirthing into the Tunbridge Wells hospital in the near future.
